About GLP1 Almanac

GLP1 Almanac is an independent, plain-English guide to GLP-1 medications and Medicare coverage — written for seniors and the people who care for them.

Why this site exists

Medicare's rules around GLP-1 medications — Wegovy, Zepbound, Ozempic, and the new $50 GLP-1 Bridge — are confusing, change often, and are usually written in dense insurance language. Most people trying to understand whether they qualify, what it costs, and how to get it are left guessing. We exist to translate all of that into clear, accurate, everyday English so you can make decisions with your doctor and your plan.

Who's behind it

Alan Jones · Founder & Editor

Alan Jones is the founder and editor of GLP1 Almanac. He spent months researching GLP-1 medications and Medicare coverage while preparing to start treatment himself, and built this site to turn that research into plain-English guides for seniors and caregivers. He is not a medical professional — every guide is built from primary sources such as CMS.gov and the FDA, kept current, and written for education, not medical advice.

We believe you deserve to know exactly who is writing the information you rely on for a health decision — which is why this site has a real, named editor rather than an anonymous brand.

How we research & our standards

  • Primary sources first. Coverage and clinical facts come from authoritative sources — CMS.gov, the FDA, and health-policy research such as KFF — not from rumor or other blogs.
  • We keep it current. The Bridge program and Medicare rules are evolving. Every guide carries a “last updated” date, and we revise pages as the official rules change.
  • We correct mistakes openly. When we find an error, we fix it and update the page — accuracy matters more than being first.
  • We stay independent. We are not affiliated with Medicare, the government, Novo Nordisk, or Eli Lilly. When a link is an affiliate or referral link, we say so on our disclosure page.

What we are not

We are a reference site, not a medical provider. Nothing here is medical advice, and reading it does not create a doctor-patient relationship. Always confirm coverage details with your plan or at Medicare.gov, and talk to your own doctor before starting, changing, or stopping any medication.
